Registration

Q: How do I log in?

A: Click on “Register” on the left side of the Home page. Complete your registration profile by answering all questions. You will then need to provide your e-mail address, license number and create a password (NOTE: Pharmacy Technicians do not require a license number).

Q: Must I register into www.pharmacygateway.ca CE Online each time I visit the CE program?

A: No, you will only need to register once. For future visits, simply provide your email address, license number and password. NOTE: Pharmacy Technicians are not required to provide a license number.

Q: Are there any restrictions or guidelines to create a password? Can I use letters and digits?

A: Yes, you must use a minimum of 4 characters and may go up to a maximum of 8. Your password can be made up of letters, digits or a combination of the two. Please note that the password is case sensitive.

Q: Must I have a pharmacist registered license number to register onto the CE online portion of the site?

A: If you are a pharmacist, it is mandatory you provide your license number. Pharmacy Technicians are not required to have a license number.

Q: If my profile information changes or I make a mistake, may I go back into my profile and change it?

A: Yes, go to the MAIN page and click on “Update my Profile”. All information can be up-dated by you with the exception of your license number. You must contact your Mayra.ramos@rci.rogers.com (for CCCEP/national programs) or Stephane.paradis@rci.rogers.com (for Quebec Pharmacie and L’actualite pharmaceutique CE’s) to change your license number

English/French CE programs

Q: How do I access French CE programs from the English site?

A: Go to the Main page and click on "français" in the top right corner. This will take you to all French CE lessons, including L’actualite Pharmaceutique, Quebec pharmacie, Novopharm CE Compliance Centre, More CCCEP - Approved CE Lessons, Tech Talk and Pharmacy Post French CE programs.

Q: How do I access English CE programs from the French site?

A: Go to the Main page and click on "English". This will take you to Pharmacy Practice CE, Pharmacy Post CE Counselor, Novopharm CE Compliance Centre, More CCCEP - Approved CE LEssons and Tech Talk CE programs.

Lesson Fees/Payment Processing

Q: Are all continuing education lessons free?

A: Most CE lessons are free, but there is a charge for Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacy Post CE lessons. Free lessons are flagged (FREE) and those with a cost are marked ($$$). Lessons with a cost offer an affordable payment option: a convenient annual membership fee, or a per-lesson fee.

Q: May I pay for my lessons on-line?

A: Yes, it is an easy process and your credit card payment information is confidential and not stored in any way. Your payment information is processed by a Rogers-approved, credible third party company. A confirmation and receipt is provided immediately.

Q: Is a receipt of payment offered?

A: Yes, when you pay your membership or individual fee through the program – it provides a confirmation of payment immediately. You may print the receipt for your records.

Q: If I am not satisfied with the online CE services, can I get a refund?

A: If, for any reasons, you are not satisfied with the CE online program and/or services please contact mayra.ramos@rci.rogers.com (National CCCEP CE’s) or stephane.paradis@rci.rogers.com (Quebec pharmacie and L’actualite pharmaceutique CE’s)

Membership

Q: If I select a membership, what does it entitle me to?

A: A membership to Pharmacy Practice or Pharmacy Post permits you to take as many tests as you like over the course of 12 months with only the publication the membership is for, starting from your membership start date.

Q: Is a membership to Pharmacy Practice interchangeable with Pharmacy Post?

A: No, a membership to Pharmacy Practice permits you to take lessons only available through the Pharmacy Practice program. This would also apply to Pharmacy Post.

Q: If my membership expires, may I renew online?

A: Yes, if your membership is due to expire, a “RENEW” button will appear by your membership status on your profile page. All you have to do is click on “RENEW” to activate the renewal process.

Q: I already have a membership but the online system says that I do not. What should I do?

A: Contact Mayra.ramos@rci.rogers.com (CCCEP national CE’s) and she will be able to automatically update your profile for you.

Accreditation

Q: Are the CE lessons approved by the provincial governing bodies?

A: Yes, all tests are approved by CCCEP (for national CE’s) or L’Ordre des pharmaciens du Quebec (for Quebec-only CE’s) (exception: Tech Talk program for Pharmacy Technicians).

Q: How many credits can I earn on each lesson?

A: This will vary from lesson-to-lesson. The number of credits that can be earned is displayed on each CE lesson.

Reviewing a Lesson and Taking a Test

Q: How do I view the lessons that are available online?

A: Once you login, click on the “CE Online Lessons” button located on the left side of the “MAIN” page. All lessons are listed under each publication. Scroll down to view all the lessons available. Each lesson shows the date of publication, volume and issue and CCCEP number. Click on “Link to lesson” to review the lesson. The “Link to lesson” button is located under the lesson name that you select.

Q: How do I select a test?

A: Go to the “MAIN” page and click on “CE Online Lessons”. Review the tests and make your selection. You may either click on the title of the lesson to take the test or click on “Link to test”.

Q: May I view the lesson while taking the test?

A: Yes, when in the “CE Online Lessons” you may click on the “Link to lesson” button to bring the lesson to your screen. The “Link to lesson” button is located under the lesson name that you select.

Q: If I realize I made a mistake after submitting a test, am I able to go back into the test - change my answers and resubmit it?

A: No, once you have submitted your test you are not able to resubmit it. For accuracy purposes, you are best to review your answer before submitting it. Please note: if you do not pass on your first try, you are able to re-take the lesson before a final grade is recorded.

Test Results

Q: When do I get my results to a test?

A: Immediately. Upon completing a test – a letter will appear with your results. The letter provides your score on the test. It also explains the correct answers and rationale to any questions you answered incorrectly. If you fail a test after the first try, you will have the opportunity to re-take it one more time. If after the second try, whether you pass or fail, you will receive a letter with your score and the answers and rationale to the questions you did not answer correctly.

Q: Does the CE Online program report my test results to my provincial association?

A: The CE Online program reports your results to your provincial body, if your provincial requires it. To view whether or not you are required to report your own results click on “Provincial CE Requirements” on the HOME page to see what your provincial association requires

Q: How do I report my results?

A: When you have successfully completed a test you are provided with a letter verifying the name of the test, your passing score and the number of credits you earned. You may print this letter at any time by going to “CE Online Report Card” on the left side of the MAIN page. The letter may be reviewed or printed at any time. If your province requires you to submit your own results you must forward the certificate to your provincial association for verification of your continuing education credits.

Q: What is the process if I disagree with my test results?

A: Please contact mayra.ramos@rci.rogers.com (national CCCEP CE’s) or stephane.paradis@rci.rogers.com (Quebec pharmacie and L’actualite pharmaceutique CE’s) and they will initiate a Question Review through the lesson author. The process may take 2 weeks before a decision may be made.

Q: Can I view which lessons I have already participated in?

A: Go to the MAIN page and click on “CE Online Report Card”. A complete listing of lessons that you have taken online are presented, by program (e.g. Pharmacy Practice, Pharmacy Post, Quebec pharmacie, etc.)

Q: How can I tell how many credits I have earned through your program?

A: Go to the MAIN page and click on “CE Online Report Card”. A complete listing of the credits you have earned over a 12-month period will be shown. The report will contain;

  • Title of each lesson you participated in
  • The date you submitted the test
  • The number of CEU’s (per lesson, per program and aggregate)
  • Pass/Fail
  • Access to verification letter (click to print)

Print CE Programs

Q: If I mail in my CE lesson answer card, how long will it take to get the results?

If you mail in your lessons please expect them to be processed within two weeks of receipt in our offices. Letters and certificates providing results are mailed monthly. Remember: If completing a test online – a letter will immediately appear with your results. The letter provides your score on the test. It also explains the correct answers to any questions and rationale you answered incorrectly.

Q: Will I be able to access my print lesson results online?

A: Yes, but you will need to contact Mayra.ramos@rci.rogers.com (national CCCEP CE’s) or Stephane.paradis@rci.rogers.com (Quebec pharmacie and L’actualite pharmaceutique CE’s) to set-up your online access. Please note: you will need an e-mail address. Once you have access, simply go to the MAIN page (link) and click on “CE Online Report Card”. A listing of lessons that you have submitted since the launch of CE Online (April 2006) are presented along with the capability to produce letters and certificates.
